'Holy' constitution

The other day, my friend and I were having a discussion about how it would be amazingly hilarious when I get married. I think it is bacause of two reasons: First, I am short and look like a kid. So the idea of a kid getting married would account to witnessing a child marriage, which is technically illegal in India. Second would be because I really dont believe in the 'holy' constitution of marriage and cant seem to figure out what really is the big deal about it.

I am not saying that I would like to die alone in old age.. I would definitely want to drag someone along to hell. But the whole obsession about all this positive marital status is seriously frustrating. The moment you hit 21, folks start scheming about proposals from random "good" families; dropping arbitrary hints about a possible match. In some countries where arranged marriages exist, unnecessary pressure piles up on the parents to make sure their offsprings suffer the same fate as they did.

The whole idea of living with someone we dont even know yet is completely revolting. I mean ewwww... What if the person is some sick psychopath who hits women? Or worse, cracks lame jokes.
