Farewell thee

Its been four long gloriuos years. The best phase of life one can ever live and never want to leave. Every single place here reminds me of some cherished memory.

I've had my share of ups and downs, bad hair days, fun party nights and everything in between. There have been times when at the end of the day, sleep would seem like such a waste of time. "There is still so much left to do", I'd say. Even today I feel like we're leaving too soon. We haven't grown up just as yet to face the outside world. I have hated the rules and regulations, always telling us what to do, but now being on my own has become my worst fear.

In this melting pot of emotions, relationships have been made, hearts have been broken, friendships have strengthened, friendships have turned to enmity, enmity has evolved to war and so on. All this forms such a major part of college life that academics has taken a back seat. Of course, the level of education was considered only when the choice of college was to be made, but after that.. kaboom. We have learned so much here though...

  • better hand-eye coordination -required to throw chits in class
  • Faster power walks - to get to class
  • Development of smarter ideas - chits in pocket, chits in the loo, notes on calculator, notes in phone etc.
  • Power of incessant talking - make the senior authorities believe whatever you say.
  • Enhanced observation skills - to find the darkest corners of campus.
  • Multitasking - eyes on professor, mind dreaming about food, ears listening to the gossip at the next bench, fingers moving rapidly while text-ing under the desk and feet tapping to the rhythm of a song.

Time just flies away. The journey from being a low-profile, shy fresher to a loud, hyper final year who thinks that we own the college, seem like a matter of a few days. All the bad facilities, or over-bearing rules or even the tasteless food can be overlooked now. What matters most is that we have got through it all and on the way made some great friends for life.

I know it will be hard to leave but I also know its time to move on. So at this point, quite unwillingly I bid you farewell my alma mater... farewell..
